Title: Who here is from Texas?
Post by: cornfedkiller on January 26, 2015, 08:46:02 PM
Anyone here from Texas, or hunted Texas enough to know a few areas?

Looking at possibly a turkey hunt there next spring, but I dont know if there are turkeys in the area we have permission to hunt?

Never hunted Knox, but some of the surrounding counties. Good turkey population in the general area. That would be in the North Zone.

I know south of that area has Rios (Brownwood), and north of there in the panhandle has Rios but sorry, I don't have any info on turkey hunting in that general area. :-\

Anyone else?

Or anyone have any information about that area of Texas? (I guess it would be what I call the north central?)

I'm betting there are turkeys on the land if its any size.

Why not ask the landowner?

I've hunted at Winchell, Texas before, which is south of Brownwood and there were lots of turkeys in that area along the Colorado river.

I've hunted several years in the panhandle, Wheeler county. Lots of turkeys there.
