what is it good for?

Most of Rob's chokes are in the .640 to .650 range. He makes a very high quality product but I've never shot one that open. I'd probably give it a try with some Magnum Blend or WLB #4 or #5 shot shells.

His chokes have been proven over time, and very high quality, so if I had one like that, I'd sure give it a try.

Thanks,
Clark

870 sm 26" barrel  polished . 40 yards lazered.

rob Roberts .660  = Fed HW 7's at 103 in 10" 266 in the 20"

Longbeard 5's 117 in the 10"  202 in the 20"
Various other lead loads couldn't break 100.
For comparison
Hevi Choke .662 = Longbeard 5's 174 in the 10" 244 in the 20"
Hevi Choke .662 = Fed HW 7's  141 in the 10"   308 in the 20"
carlsons .660 = Fed HW 7's 147 in the 10"  304 in the 20"
carlsons .660 = Longbeard 5's 139 in the 10"  247 in the 20"
This choke is behind on performance.

Get a .660 rhino or .650 sumtoy and be done with it.
The numbers you listed with the .660 Roberts are pathetic.

I have one in my Sbe2 and it shoots awesome and puts up great numbers. Different fun but he makes a fine choke

I cannot see a use for this choke. I know from watching on his sight that he does not push for tight counts in the 10" , but even the 20" is well behind.
I bought this choke from a gun shop who sells a lot of Benelli shotguns. Has large selection of these chokes.  This size is what they said he recommends. They wont swap it out for a different size.
Just thought i would give it a fair try with a variety of loads.
I know i have shot a Magblend in it, just don't have the pattern paper now for counts , was not good.
Not a cheap choke at around 80 bucks, disappointed.

r243  glad yours works , what size?

I'd for sure call him Rob is a stand up guy. I'm not saying his chokes are the best on the planet as there are a bunch of factors and there are a lot of good chokes out there but his are far from behind. I'm sure some will have higher numbers but his produce a fantastic killing pattern

Yeah Owlhoot,
Give Rob a call. I would bet he will switch it out for a different
Constriction. Got one in my 20 and 12 and they are as good as
Any on the market.

I called Rob Roberts today.
They gave a lot of information on loads that changed etc.
Pellet counts in loads. Differences in barrel lengths.
Shot shells loaded with the wrong size pellets .
A wealth of information.
They didn't seem to think that .660 was a bad size for Remington.

Any way they didn't want anything to do with swapping it out since I bought it last spring.
They said normally a guy buys a choke from them, shoots a few loads and then gets a swap.
I asked about different loads in it, or what load may work.
I suggested Longbeard 4"s , they said to try that.
