not to the turkey,  but at the cafe or gas station if you don't have the latest  and greatest no one will believe you are a REAL turkey hunter.

Of course you can go Bottomland retro too!  :z-guntootsmiley:

:agreed:
But it definitely helps if you find yourself in a marginal position, or get caught off guard.

I could not tell you the name of the camo in my closet if my life depended on it.

Well I must stink then and have only killed a pile of dumb turkeys if it does. Movement and patience has killed more birds than camo ever will.....

The pattern that I like to wear most often is called "on clearance".  I love the stuff! Hundreds of turkeys never knew I wasn't cool.

No turkey hunter needs more than Stevens single shot, & 2.75" lead #6.

Anything more than that is only a crutch for a poor hunter.

And I know this to be true, because I says so!

Past a weapon, "need" has nothing to do with anything....

Just about as much as the amount they spent on their decoys.

It don't matter to the turkeys but camo is more comfortable and it drives my wife crazy. So I wear it..... All the time.

I like a couple camo patterns and I have a lot of it. Does it matter? No.  I look cool at the gas station if I'm wearing camo or not.  ;)

Ya'll spend your money on old cars, liquor, stamps, antiques, golf, new handguns, fancy steaks, another shop, another rifle, leases, stands for pine goats, a green egg smoker, yeti cooler (or at least the sticker), Bone Collector DVDs, yet another flannel shirt and more guns n ammo magazines. I'll spend mine on some good, non restricting camouflage that'll keep me cooler or warmer whichever is required (yes I'll buy one for each). While I'm doing that, it just makes since to get a good looking pattern and pants and shirt to match.  :z-twocents:  :toothy9: :z-guntootsmiley:

Do you need the latest camo pattern to kill turkeys, in the sense that you can't kill a turkey without it? No.

Does camo help kill turkeys? Yes.

Take 100 turkeys. Some of them will see you even if you're completely camo'ed. Some won't see you if you're wearing blaze orange. But some won't see you if you're in camo that would have seen you otherwise. Those are the ones that make it worthwhile to wear camo.

Saying that camo won't help you if you move is unfair. Camo won't help you if you play a boom box with the dial turned to 11 either. You have to stay still, camo or not.
