Title: Virus Infected Turkeys
Post by: tomstopper on January 23, 2015, 07:52:06 PM
Just got off the phone with my stepdad and he said that today he seen a gobbler standing in the middle of a back road and it didn't hear or see his truck get about 5 feet away. He stopped and got out and said that he couldn't see its eyes because its whole head and neck was covered in huge growths/tumors. Googled diseases and wild turkeys in NY and the below link s what I found.

My question is, Has anyone else seen this (especially in NY) and even though the article says that we shouldn't be concerned, should we be?

Some were turned in to conservation in NE Missouri a few years back. populations down then.

Some blackhead in domestics could wipe out a farm i had heard.
