Title: scouting today

We had thunderstorms this morning. I went to a new area with my son in law. Our season doesn't open for another 3 weeks. 1 hour after sunrise still no gobbles. It got the best of me so in went the mouth call. Got a gobble. Then a hen answered and must have told him to shut up. Never heard another turkey noise after that. Didn't really want to call but just couldn't resist. Did the hen know it was me?

Season doesn`t start for 3 weeks? I`d be there opening day. That bird won`t remember that. Did you even spook it? Did the hen see you?

Nope never saw us. I was across an open field and they were down in the woods

Those birds won`t be call shy. I`ve done that same thing before and birds answer when season opens. I wouldn`t worry about it.
