Just called Mr.Sneed and ordered the hot hen and his green glass calls. What a nice man, he spent over half hour with me talking turkey, telling me about the calls he makes and demonstrating their awesome sound. I was not expecting the personal attention he gave me. He treated me like we had been friends for years! Just the nicest person you would ever want to know! I was blessed today

Plan some extra time before calling him. Always a great visit. He's a great treasure to our sport and a true gentleman!
I sure am proud to call Lonnie a friend. Definitely one of a kind.
He's one of a kind
You'll be hard pressed to find anyone who has something bad to say about Lonnie. He's a great guy!
A great guy who makes a great call. I had the best season I ever had last year with his Hot Hen Slate as my go to call.
Congrats on the new additions. :icon_thumright:
Anybody know what Lonnie charges for his hot hen slate?

$40
Just received my Hot Hen in the mail yesterday. $40 with the leather cover, $30 without the cover. Love the call. Can't wait to try it out on our Michigan public land gobblers this Spring.
You get one of his calls you've got a good one.
My favorite pot calls by far. I would love to meet Lonnie some day.
He is a character, I really enjoy talking to him.
How can you get in touch with him to order one?

You will really like his calls.I have both that you ordered plus a couple other of his specialty calls.Lonnie is a class act to say the least..
Lonnie is a great guy, talked with him today for almost an hour..The kind of gentlemen you could sit and listen to for literally hours, and has a wealth of knowledge on turkey hunting and calling. I ordered a hot hen call to try this season, really looking forward to using it this year.
Just spent about two hours talking with Lonnie. A fine gentleman who also is a great callmaker.
Just got my hot hen and outlaw hen (green glass) calls in and they did not dissapoint! he spent extra time signing and dating them for me,they sound amazing, thanks to all on here who recommended them!

does he have a wait list? would love to get a hot hen before the season starts
It's not to long of a wait. He told me this morning he has gotten a lot of orders in the last 2 weeks, but he is keeping up with orders pretty good. Thank you guys for the kind words about my dad.

I called today and ordered mine while you were there, he said you had recently got back from St Cloud, FL. and told me the same about lots of orders but I should get it in a couple weeks. He told me he couldn't talk to long because he had a customer show up just before I called, and we still talked for over 30 min. Hes a nice fella to talk with and I'm sure Ill enjoy the call, and after all I've heard I cant wait.
Just got my hot hen call in the mail today..one of the best slate calls I've ever heard.. Great sound!
I may be ordering the Outlaw hen soon. Lonnie makes a great sounding call.
His Old Raspy Hen is just as good as the Hot Hen.
got my hot hen and outlaw hen today they sound awsome cant wait for season thanks for all the recomendations he is such a nice man to talk to im proud to have some of his calls
Everything on this thread is spot on. He couldn't have been nicer and spent more time with me. I ended up ordering his Hot Hen Slate and his glass call. They both sounded too good over the phone not to order both!
I bought a Hot Hen the other day from a member and couldn't be happier. I called Mr. Sneed to tell him about it and by the end of the call, I had an Outlaw green glass hen headed my way too.
Such a fine fellow to talk too and a true gentleman!
I am honored to have crossed his path!

I have never spoken to a finer fellow!
I ordered me a hot hen slate and an outlaw hen from mr sneed yesterday he said they would be black walnut pots with oak on bottom with purple heart strikers
Ordered 3 calls from him last Wednesday. Talked with him probably for nearly an hour. Like everyone has said, a fine gentleman indeed. He also told me the story how he came up with the name Outlaw Hen. Sure is a nice man & could have spent hours talking with him.
Im chomping at the bits waiting on mine, should get it before our youth weekend...
I could talk to Lonnie all day. I hear some of the same stories over but enjoy them just as much the second time as the first. A true turkey hunter legend.
I finely got myself dug out of about 25" of snow, and went to Dads and got him dug out. He told me he had about 35 call to take to P. O. today or tomorrow. Some of you guys should be getting a call in the mail in a few days. I don't know who's calls, just that he had about 35 ready to mail. Good luck to all. :OGturkeyhead: :OGturkeyhead:
Lonnie sneed jr. Pm sent
Ordered two calls today from Lonnie! Right now there are 40 orders ahead of mine! Can't wait to get my hands on that "outlaw hen!" Super nice guy who represents my home state, West Virginia well!
Not sure he is still making them, but if you get his Terminator aluminum you will get two. I have never seen a call in my 34 years of turkey hunting that will set a bird on fire where nothing else will like this call. I had to plead with him to part with the second one.
:turkey2:
The Terminator will kee kee with the best of them.
Recieved my Hot Hen today, which didn't take long at all considering I mailed a M.O, which added time. Very happy with the call, sounds great. A great deal for 24.00, that's right 24.00 , when you consider he pays the 6.00 Priority Shipping, can't beat that for a 24.00 call is the way I look at it, very happy with it and his service.
Mine was $40
Last few I bought were $40
Same at $40. Maybe he didn't get a cover or striker
I think what Cutt meant was that a $30 call minus $6 shipping means the call really only cost $24. If I am not mistaken, Mr. Lonnie's pots are only $30 without the cover and that includes shipping.
Just got mine with a cover. Was $40

Exactly, I paid 30.00 without a cover, but no one ever considers shipping cost, that the buyer normally pays on top of the price. So it actually cost 24.00 is the point I was making.
Great call at any price.
called up my first with the green glass call this afternoon for my son...that ole tom was eating that thing up....I think the leather cover just adds to the call neat to have..
Just received my Red Hot Hen and my Outlaw Hen! Man, that's an awesome pair of turkey killers! Lonnie is truly a blessing to talk to!
Spoke with him the other day, and he's not making the raspy boss hen anymore, not sure about the terminator though
God made all men but in my opinion he made very few men as good as Lonnie and those are very few and far between.
I will see my Dad and get to hunt with him for the first time in about a year this weekend. He is getting a Hot Hen personalized with his name handed to him as soon as he gets out of the truck. Being also from Wild and Wonderful West Virginia, which he misses everyday, I am sure he is going to grin from ear to ear when he looks the Hot Hen over. I can also guarantee a tear will fall from my eye as he jigs about the woods with me this weekend yelping, purring and putting.
Thanks Lonnie and God Bless.
I got one from him last year and i love it.
He is an AWESOME guy to deal with. He is as much of a talker as i am and we talked for over an hour.
what is everyones favorite striker on the hot hen?
I like his purpleheart/oak striker that came with it. It ain't nothing fancy, but it dang sure sounds good to me.

When I got my Hot Hen, he sent an order form, Terminator was still listed, but the Raspy Boss Hen was crossed off. So I'm hoping, as I just sent money for a Aluminum Terminator and Glass Outlaw Hen.

This week, I did exactly the same thing you did and had exactly the same experience. It's the first time I've ever talked with a stranger and felt like I was talking to an old friend. I may never kill a turkey with the calls I ordered, but our 30 minute talk was worth way more than the cost of the calls. A true gentleman!
Lonnies work are serious medicine on gobblers---he's a great guy to visit with also---lots of experience and history with him
Those of you that ordered recently what was the wait time?

Mailed a M.O. going on 2 weeks, nothing yet. By the sounds of it, he's on the phone a lot, might be cutting into his turn time? just my :z-twocents:

Put an order in a couple days ago and he said I'd have it by the time my season starts, which for me is late April.
Please do not hold him to it, but he told me last night he was about 2.5 to 3 weeks behind.

I realize he is busy and have no problem with the wait, was just trying to get the guys to limit their talk time, so he can work on our calls. :toothy12:
Lonnie Sneed Hot Hen.
Man I got to get me one of them. If they are 1/2 as good as they appear to be, I'll be happy.
Heard nothing but positive reviews.
Great job Lonnie.

I realize that everyone is in a hurry to get their calls. But honestly as good as the calls are, a big part of the experience is the conversation with Lonnie. I enjoy listen to him talk turkey hunting & calls.
Turkey slayer friend sent me a link this week HOW COULD I MISS THIS GUY FOR 78 YEARS LOL ! We ordered a pair today my slate is on last leg but hope to have for first week of Maryland's opener on 4-18 or at least for first part of season. Sound bites sound GREAT and an AWESOME GUY, CANT WAIT!
Just got off the phone with Lonnie an hr ago..I couldn't take it anymore had to have a green glass Outlaw Hen call...I bought a hot hen call a while back should have got both then..Can't wait to get this Outlaw Hen...I tried to cut the phone call short....and we still talked for 30 minutes..lol
Thank goodness that there a some decent businesses in our industry. I have no doubt that he stands by his products from the sound of the compliments.
Everything you read / hear about the man is true... an absolute pleasure to make an acquaintance. Mailman delivered a package from Lonnie. Not sure which I liked best, the Hot Hen or the Outlaw Hen, THAT'S why I'm glad I got both! ;D
Agree with above- my original call to Lonnie was to order Hot Hen slate but after he ran his green glass for me over phone I got both. Glad I did ! Outlaw Hen Green Glass is such an easy runner, rolls over especially well, and is all turkey. Just something about that green glass that works for me!!
Just got my Hot Hen in the mail today, and I really like it. The only thing I regret is not getting the Outlaw Hen too! Kind of "milder" sound than my Twisted Sister is the way I would describe it, but still all turkey. I'm sure the difference between slate and glass. Now I just have to wait for my West Augusta strikers to arrive that I ordered for it.
My Outlaw hen came in mail today..all I can say is awesome!...Sounds great just like the hot hen Lonnie makes.
How long did was your wait??? Hoping to get mine before April 22nd. Ordered on the 4th
You won't find a better fella to talk too!
Calls sounds awesome too!

Took about 2 weeks to get mine, so I'll guess you will get it in time.
Thanks :z-guntootsmiley:
Do not know who's calls they were, but I was at Dads this morning and he had a bunch of calls boxed up and was heading to the P.O.. He also had a lot on the drying table that should go out in a few days. Thanks and good luck this Spring.
:OGturkeyhead: :OGturkeyhead:
Got my fingers crossed I get mine by the 22nd. Would love to call to some gobblers with one of your dads turkey calls... Thanks for the update!!! :turkey2:
