My wife bought me a Savage Mark II bull barrel .22 for Christmas. I am leaning towards a Vortex 2-7 x 35 rimfire scope to put on it. All I have scope wise are Leopold on my deer rifles. I really can't justify spending $300 on a scope when a long shot is going to be 50 yards. Does anyone have any experience with setting up a tack driver .22. I own several .22 rifles, but have never put a scope on one. Thanks in advance.
Bushnell Elite 3200....It sounds like you dont want to spend that much but I have one on my sons 10/22 and my 10/22. We love them. We use them for squirrells and fall turkey hunting. We strectch them out to 100 yards on the range for fun and I have taken a fall bird at 80 yards with one...The Elite's are good for clarity.
I really like the BSA sweet 22 scope. I have an old J.C. Higgins model 30 and it's deadly at 50 yards.

The Simmon's 22 Mag scope is great for the money! $40 shipped from Optic's Planet.
I put many a head shot on the squirrel's the last 2 years with mine.

This. ^^^ You should be able to find good deals on them, and the rainguard feature is nice.
Ended up getting the Vortex 2-7x32. Shot it today at 40 yards on paper. A 5 shot group was a hole the size of an M&M in the center of the bulleseye. That will work. I got a really good deal on the scope. It has a really fine reticle.
I have a Vortex diamondback on my 17 hmr..Very good scope for the money.
