I've been told that it will fit and it won't fit. Which is correct???
I am pretty sure it was designed for the FF3. Mine is in the mail so I can tell you for sure next week.
In the meantime, here is a good video that clearly shows it.

Installed mine today. Yes it does fit. It fits both the FFii and FFiii.
Is there enough room left for the cover to fit over the FastFire 3??? :OGturkeyhead:
Yes. It fits and covers still works
Same set-up I have and it fits and the cover also fits.
Awesome optic! I have the same set up. You will love it.
Will the protector work with the 336 mount?

Yes, I just took mine to my smith this week. They just need longer screws to mount the Fastfire and protector to the 336, it's exactly what I'm doing
Thanks!

Ok so, it doesn't have to have that "bolt" in a slot on the bottom of the mount?
I'm not clear on if you are asking about a mount or a rail as I'm not familiar with the model numbers. In case it helps, I just bought both the Fastfire 3 with mount, as well as the Protector. I threw away the packaging so I don't have model numbers. The protector mount cross bolt and clamp are the same style on both units. I had a weaver rail on my shotgun and the cross bolt wouldn't fit in the slots. I had to order a picatinny rail.
Timmer I was talking to the guy who said the burris ff3 Marlin 336 mount would let the protector mount mount correctly. See that 336 does not have a slot. It is really just a low profile mount that allows the ff3 to be mounted directly to it. I bought it thinking it was a short weaver base.
How do you like it now that it is mounted?

I think I'm satisfied now that my little project is done. See my thread update here - http://oldgobbler.com/Forum/index.php/topic,51089.0.html (http://oldgobbler.com/Forum/index.php/topic,51089.0.html)
