I picked up a new model Browning A5 last year as the season here in SC was ending. I'm gonna start picking up a few chokes now so I'll be ready to pattern as the season gets closer. Anybody have a recommendation on chokes for this gun. Specs are 28" barrel with 3" chamber. I'll be looking to run Hevi 6s or Lead 5s. Also I intend on this gun to be a woods gun so im not looking for big #s at 40. Just a good even hunting pattern.
Not familiar with the gun but a Pure Gold, Indian Creek, or SumToy should be able to give you what you want. Personally I would shoot Hevi 6s but nothing wrong with the Longbeard or Federal Turkey Thug #5s. Good luck!
I forgot about the ICs. It'll probably boil down to a IC, Pure Gold, or a Pattern Master Code Black.
I've got a boat load of lead 5s and will be setting this gun up to shoot them. I've never killed a turkey with lead shot so im going to take it as a challenge come April.
Good gun. Put a 675 in it with the Win XR 5's. :icon_thumright:

I hear a lot of positive feedback from the JEB's turkey choke shooters with that gun. They've been using H-13 & WLB shells.
Thanks,
