Title: Any Crow Hunters out there?
Post by: chadly on December 09, 2014, 09:51:13 AM
I've been hunting crows for a few years and really like it.  We do not have a lot of crows so our set ups are quick and we move to a new location after about 10 minutes or so.  I use an electric caller and three decoys.  I think I could do better if I had a better set up.  Something more convincing for the crows to come a little closer.  I'm thinking of some kind of moving decoy.  I'm not sure what to get though.  I need something light, easy to set up, and fast.   Any suggestions?
Thanks Chad.

We run and gun crows.  The one thing I've learned is let them come in and get excited before you start shooting.  My set up is a electric caller and no decoys but I'm sure deks would only help.

Decoys are good, done it both ways.  It's a lot of fun, as long as you shoot the first couple that come in.  Those seem to be scouts and if you miss, you better go find another spot!

Ive used electronic and wind blown calls.

I wonder if you could paint a mojo dove or duck black?
