Sorry to hear that, that stinks. Always get the money first, then ship is the lesson learned here.

I sure hate to see this happen, I send calls to people sometimes before i get the money, have had no proplems for the most part..
I know for a fact that the person in question got on a call makers site on FB saying he was a call maker.. but was kicked off after it was brought up. just saying.

That really does STINK!!!!!

I have also sent out calls prior to payment being received. Some folks I'll ship before and some I won't.

If in doubt, request a Postal Money Order prior to shipping. This keeps both sides honest, call maker and consumer!

First, lesson learned, second, trust is a hard gain in this game, use it very discreetly and cherish it when it works in your favor. I would suggest that you not post this type of material especially providing a person's name, it would be best to handle it through personal messages or phone calls. Even though it is good to be forewarned "seller beware"  type thing, it is in the best interest of all to be discreet about it and not create an issue that could hinder the success of the site.

I hate to hear this. I have bought hundreds of turkey calls in my life and can honestly say I have only paid for or won in a contest a couple calls I did not get. But I can assure you I will never forget those two and be more than happy to share their names if anyone ever asked. One of them happens to be very highly thought of on another turkey forum. I have often wondered about the callmakers that send their calls to you before they get their money. It seems for the most part the turkey call brotherhood is a very honest and trustworthy bunch of folks.

I have had that happen once for quite a bit of money, My hard lesson, I'll never mail a call without payment first

I know its nice to be able to trust people but none of you guys should ship any calls without payment first. With Paypal there is no reason to deal with it.

That trust is a two way street as Rickey pointed out!

Excellent advice for all of us that sell calls here.

PayPal is a good as long as you don't use the Gift option.  For the saving of a few bucks, buyer and seller lose protection.

That's a shame for you personally. In the bigger picture it's a shame for all the honest sellers and buyers who would never consider not following through on their half of a deal.

This type of thing is avoidable most of the time , the site policy does stipulate to receive payment before shipping the call - rarely ....rarely does a call maker make bad on a deal , that's where the thought pattern is generated from this policy

But I do understand that sometimes people like to handle things their own way , several call makers got snookered by a single individual in this manner years ago he was from the Tampa FL area....

I personally will not do paypal as a gift if I am buying something. I will pay the 3% extra but not going to lie about it.

Sorry to hear about your trouble. I always stet I want money before and I have references from those I have bought from an sold to.

Guy's, I can understand how you all feel, but for me, I am a very trusting person & I really have no problems sending calls before receiving payment, with that being said, I have been left hanging twice by people on another forum, but I'm dealing with ethical & men of character, as I assume all hunters are  & I don't know of many, if any people I would rather trust . So yea, I'll probably get bit again down the road, but its really his loss & not mine, if he can live with it, I can live without it.

I will always send the call first but if I have a doubts I'll call my buddies and ask them if they know the person. I guess I just trust people until they give me a reason not to trust them. I will always give the buyer the benefit of a doubt. I feel that if you contact the forum admin they are willing to assist in getting the problem taking care of, Just plain respect for the admin to not start trouble for the site . I do understand why the buyer was called out but I would have did it differently but every action does have a reaction.

The person you speak of posted on FB that he's trying to get his life right so maybe you will get your money an all will be resolved eventually.
