A friend of ours shot this deer, her first, on Thanksgiving morning on her property in Southern Illinois.

Her Dad sent me the picture this morning. He's justifiably very proud of her.

It's a beauty, don't you think?

She is such an incredible young lady. We've known the family, including her grandparents on both sides for years. I served on a water district board with her grandfather, Doris graduated from high school with her grandmother and babysat her mom and uncle.

I could not be more happy for her if she were my daughter.

She is indeed a beautiful young woman. I've watched her grow up and become a wonderful person as well. All of her family are just fine people.

Great looking buck.  Heavy dark antlers with great character on a brute of a deer.  I would still be pumped up about that buck.
