Got setup Wednesday morning and I knew there were a few birds here somewhere but had no idea where they roosted the evening before....
Just at daylight what I thought was going to be a fall hunt turned into a typical spring morning hunt.
I couldnt have setup any closer to roost if I tried....I had hens doing their thing and a single bird gobbling with them right behind me....
Then across the field I hear more gobbling about 200 yards over there....
Well before the birds behind me had flown down the three birds across the field were on the ground and gobbling and struting just like a typical springs hunt...It didnt take much calling and they came running with their beards swaying back and forth within 20 yards in front of me and the one who did the most struting I killed...
Those birds in the tree behind me really helped me out with all that natural calling for sure....A good heavy bird with half inch spurs and a even 10 inch beard...
