Title: Newbie and Hevi Shot
Post by: northern redneck on March 19, 2011, 02:28:25 PM
I just came back from Bass Pro (the only one in Ontario) where I purchased hevi 13 for turkey. They only had 3" 1 5/8oz #4 and 3 1/2"  1 3/4oz #5.
I see by the posts #7 is popular but in Ontario we can only use 4,5 and 6.
I purchased a Stoeger P350 last year and I am looking for the best choke to go with these loads.
Any suggestions?

I don't know anyone with a Stoeger; but I would guess you could go with a JH, PG or IC and get great results.

I would call PG and IC and tell them what you have and ask for their recommendation as to which of their tubes to use with that load and gun.

Thanks I will contact them.
I guess i ment to ask about the size of choke for the #4 and #5, I assumed I would be using a turkey choke but reading the posts on the form tells me that Hevi Shot works better with a more open choke, is that right?
By the way I went with number 4 as my old shotgun only took 2 3/4" and 4 patterned the best at 40 yards.
