Post by: Swampchickin234 on October 01, 2014, 11:58:42 PM
We'll how's everyone doing in their turkey withdrawals ?   I'm loving some bow huntin now, and am anxiously awaiting a steady stream of cool/ cold weather.  How have you done so far this season?

I have been out 4 times and saw 8 deer one night and nothing on the other 3 sits.  The only one that got close enough came in way too late.  I don't even know if it was a fawn or a 150" buck.  No turkey sightings yet although our cameras show that they are around.

Our archery season starts here Saturday in PA. Been waiting for a run of salmon in the Lake O tribs. This year has been pretty poor as far as the salmon run goes.

Got one hog and have had several does and one young six point in range but waiting for a mature buck. It's been tough here in Florida with the hot weather and a ton of rain. Supposed to be nice starting tomorrow morning with lows in the mid 50's for the next few days which is unheard of here in early Oct.

Bow hunting for whitetail, heading out for elk shortly, then mule deer, fall bear, then back to whitetail.

Easton, my 8 yr old, killed a big doe a few days ago. She has killed 3 bucks but this was her first doe. She was excited. Colder weather here now and better bucks showing up. One of the girls will connect with one soon.

The season started Oct. 1 here in Iowa. I have 5 stands set up...put the last one up last Saturday. I have yet to even buy my tag. I'm finally starting to get enthused about going. In the last 8 years, the earliest I have taken my buck was November 9th. The latest was November 19th. 4 of them have been on November 11th....3 from the same stand.
