Title: Roadside Gobblers
Post by: GomerPyle on September 30, 2014, 04:05:30 PM
Driving along HWY 78 in North Alabama Sunday afternoon, I saw 2 turkeys walking along the side of the interstate, about 15 yards from the road.  As I got closer, I realized both were mature gobblers.

We bust our butts all season, getting up way earlier than we ought to, putting in the miles looking for these stupid birds, and yet here they are wandering along the side of the interstate in the middle of the afternoon.....

Had one that had traffic stopped on major highway the other day, standing in the middle of the road like a cop directing traffic. Probably no where to be found that the season is ready to open tomorrow.
