Title: 870 Hevi 13 3-2-7 Patterns
Post by: BigPeck215 on March 18, 2011, 04:42:01 PM
patterns from a 870 with this years hevi 13, out of a tgssx643, JH665 and an IC675.... gonna go with .675IC, all in all i was kinda disappointed with the ssx and the JH, kinda figured they would go at least the 230's

thanks, i was gonna go with a .665IC but i felt the patterns would be too tight at 20yds, so i thought the .675 would give me dense 40yd patterns and open up my 20yd numbers a bit and it worked exactly as i hoped it would. all in all i'm very please with the .675IC

i had a pg670 2yrs ago when i was shootin hevi 13 3.5-2.25-6's and i couldnt break 150's with it, so i sold it and then i realized that it was a bad batch of shells instead of bad choke

one other note the IC dropped almost 40 pellets when it was shot dirty, cleaned it out and shot it clean and the numbers went back up he 240's

Nice pattern!! But now I am seeing what guys are saying from last years 7's and this years 7's. I patterned last years 7's with the same gun and choke (JH) and got 325. This is crazy.

Better keep that IC. squeaky clean in the woods, may have to carry you a bore bush in your turkey vest! ;)

buck, last year i was getting 190's with the ssx and jh shootin the 3.5" mag blends, couldnt get ahold of any 7's last year but i have no doubt the ssx and jh would have done much better with last years shells compared to this years shells. theres no way the 3.5" mag blends should pattern the same as the 7's, 7's shoulda blew them outta the water IMO

I agree. Either way any one of those loads are deadly. Many birds will prove that.
