Title: push pin caller from Shannon
Post by: jmck on June 20, 2014, 11:01:22 AM
Friday, the ole mailbox delivered me a little caller I have heard a lot about. Well, it arrived and I gotta say -the craftsmanship and attention to detail is spot on. The call is made from Macassar Ebony and also has Shannon's lid that he offers on them.
The little caller is really a player. With just a little manipulation on the dowel, the call really gets super sweet sound in it--from purrs, clucks ,yelps and cuts , the little caller has it all.
Thanks Shannon for the great little push pin caller .

Glad you like it ! And thanks everyone for the kind words !!!Macassar is becoming a ever increasing favorite -- I like them quite a bit myself - I have one that called in dozens of birds this season , there is a bit of method to using them correctly it takes about 10 minutes to pick it up and your ready for the woods

Making them is a pain , but they do come out nicely , I'm still taking names on the waiting list so that I avoid the usual spring season rush  -- I have enough Macassar stashed  to make about 1 dozen more , after that I don't know when I'll find some more in suitable sizes

From an owner of a couple of these sweet callers, you got your hands on one nice piece of turkey killing machine! Not to mention some of the best craftsmanship you will ever hold in your hands. As an experienced hunter, Shannon knows what it takes to make a call that will produce the proper sounds to lure that Tom in and as a meticulous to detail maker, he puts all of himself into those lil' push pins. Congrats on your newly acquired prize possession.
