Title: Turkey egg shells
Post by: Old Timer53 on June 10, 2014, 06:40:21 PM

What would you think if you found 4 nest of turkey egg shells in ryegrass field in Ms.  My question is ....did they hatch or did coons destroy nest. I didn't see the nest but a friend did.  I'm hoping they hatched.

If the shells were all in the nests, I'd say hatched. Coons scatter them pretty good.

If they were pretty much "halved" they were hatched.  Poults basically chip out of the egg in a circle.  if something raided the nest the shells would be crunched into small pieces, or even ate.
