Title: browning maxus be drilled...?

can a browning maxus be drill and tapped for a weaver  base the new ones the all purpose is done from factory but other models are not and I asked local gunsmith he said no so im confused it would have to be a yes for me to buy one

Do yourself a favor and buy the one that comes drilled and tapped.

If you buy the one that comes drilled and tapped you avoid the risk of the drill/tap not being true and screw holes stripping out, etc. If it is wrong from factory they will make it right. If your gunsmith gets it wrong it is your baby.

Also, the factory drilled gun has metal inserts imbedded into the top of the receiver.
