What size frames and tapes does everyone find works the best? Also where is the best place to purchas thees supplies with the best quality?
Also, how is one to know what thickness of latex to use?
You can get all of your material tape, frames, latex etc from pioneer. Most guys are using small frames, and then tape is just your preference. Usually most people put a thicker piece of latex on the top and then thinner pieces under that. Just play around with it and you'll get it!
Good luck, let me know if you have any questions.

That pretty much summed up the basics.

You could always do this until you get the money to buy a press.

When ordering and working with latex, does the color make a difference as far as sound goes as long as its the same thickness? For instance will .004 black make same pitch as .004 yellow or natural?
In my experience (making predator frames) yes the color makes a difference. Not sure why. I'm betting it has something to do with the original intent of that color of latex. Maybe the dies change it. Or maybe both. Or maybe I'm totally missing the boat. Either way I feel it makes a difference. Just my :z-twocents:
Yes it does make a difference.
