Title: My new shotgun
Post by: flintlockgirl on May 24, 2014, 09:59:47 AM
Cowboy Action Shotting told me I was not allowed to use my Charles Daly in Cowboy shooting. My new double barrel, I love it, but it kicks too much!!!
Russian made, only like 285.00 brand new plus the shipping of course. barrels are chrome lined, I didny think that was a bad deal. Should do ok on turkeys if close, havnt patterned it yet.

Thanks, all I know it is a russian double barrel i bought through guns of america and united sporting arms, no screw in chokes, they are both improved cylinder. but for the price, the wood is actually quite nice on it. Im just going to get one of those slip on recoil pads, i  cant take the recoil from this, its bad. Only 20 inch barrels, the whole gun is only 35 inches.

?? why cant you use it for cowboy action.
For reduced recoil try a 2 3/4 shell.  A Federal with a flight control wad maybe, Heavy weight #7 shot might be your best bet.
seen one of those ? His had hammers, it did very well with 3" Remington nitros cheap loads do very well sometimes without chokes.
If you shoot alot , do you plan on reloading?

By the way, check  and see if Sumone can thread for chokes if ya like. If the barrels are thick enough.
