Title: Trigger work on an 835??
Post by: Ridge Rooster on May 22, 2014, 06:44:42 PM
Just brought home a new 835 GS Turkey model. Bought gun to play around with and liked the 20' barrel for ease of handling. The trigger is awful, measured at over 7 pounds. This is unacceptable in a turkey gun for me so I need to have it adjusted to a more manageable weight. Who do yall recommend?? I would like to be able to just send the trigger assembly and not the whole gun, and I saw in a different post where there is someone who will take the trigger housing and adjust.

Thanks

I agree. When I was shooting for the first time I thought I forgot the safety on.

Check out this post  http://oldgobbler.com/Forum/index.php/topic,46732.0.html  I had Bill do mine and I'm satisfied with the results.

Thanks bbcoach, that was the post I was looking for. Looks like Bill is at 45 dollars now so the decision is to either send gun to Mossberg for the LPA trigger, costing 80 dollars, or send it to Bill costing 45.

http://www.edsguns.net/contact.html    Call this guy, he has been in business for 43 years, he did a trigger job on my brand new SX3 turkey gun.  Cost me $65.00, everyone else wanted $100 to $120 dollars.  He also makes turkey calls, unique ones.  I think I will buy one for next year.  He wants 40 dollars for what appears to be a killer call.  He and his wife are very nice people.

The call in the video is just one call he makes, call or email him for the rest.  He has 80 different kinds of wood and says he can't make the call quick enough to sell.
