so I was wanting a new strutter decoy. had planed on either a Zink or DSD. I already use a mounted one that I named Chuck. a couple weeks ago I was in walmart and they had the Turkey Thug Wise Guy decoy marked down to $30. I looked at it several times over the last 2 months so I decided to get one and see what I could do with it as I already knew it looked like junk. here is what I came up with.
new right out of box

over all I think it was a well spent $30
Nice job! Looks great!
I'm very impressed, that thing looks good
Wow that looks great! I just dropped 120.00 at Dicks this morning for a LCD strutter. I think yours might look better.
I was fixing to shoot till I saw it didn't have a beard.
I have done something similar with a decoy in 1/2 strut, looked great but was not very portable for me.

that was done on purpose to make anyone who thinks about shooting it think twice.

Well done. Most of the time I've seen people attempt this it resulted in a dumpster fire. I would actually hunt behind yours.
How did you do this? Glue each feather or use a dried skin? Great Job!

That must have taken forever! I'm impressed, I carved a piece of foam and attached a whole dried skin.
i already have a mounted bird. i wanted a lighter decoy that i dont have to worry about when it rains.
looks real good
Very impressed man! Did you kill a recent bird that you used the feathers from?
yes 2 of my birds this year i breasted out then took guts out and froze the rest because i had planned to do this. only one i would not have done this to is a DSD. still considering buying a Zink this summer and doin it up.

I bet that took at least 15 minutes... Maybe even longer.
Great job on that decoy? I would be curious as to how long it actually did take?
8-10 hours including the paint job on the head

Of course I was joking and it was meant as a compliment. Good idea nonetheless. :)
Good work! It looks great.

I'm sure all your hard work will pay off down the road .Very nice indeed. :icon_thumright:
Looks very good but I know guys who use only a tail fan as a decoy an it works well....
That looks super. Your work and attention to detail really shows. I would seriously kill any gobbler that tried to mess that up.

And I know guys who use 10 gauges when a 410 or a bow will kill one. It is all about personal preference and I have way more confidence in my decoy than just a tail. Was in New York this past week with this decoy and he tallied up 3 kills!
