Here is a Frictionwood call made by Kenny Morgan. I already had one these and had the opportunity to pick this one up and jumped on it. This has to be one of the purest sounding calls out there for clucks, purrs, and soft yelps. I am running this one with the corncob striker that came with it, a corncob/wingbone striker from Fred Cox, and one of my hand carved strikers. It is a 2 inch X 3 3/4 inch piece of wood with a sound chamber.

Do you think that playing surface is Osage or Walnut?
David,
I think the playing surface is mud-cured Osage but I may be wrong. When you see the call you can see what I am basing this on.
I have a Morgan Frictionwood that is different from yours. Mine has a wood disc about the size of a 50cent piece glued where your playing surface is The disc functions as the playing surface. I do not know when or why the change.
