Cleaned some old meat out a freezer last week and dumped it in the woods hoping to get a coyote on the trail cam. Well we got lots of buzzards and crows but we were really surprised when this flew in...
A Bald Eagle. I know some of you see these on a regular basis but trust me Bald Eagle in the Mountains of VA is rare, I've only seen one other.

After that a couple of Red Tailed Hawks showed up.
I guess this one is claiming his territory.

Very cool pics. Beautiful birds of prey. I would vote for a juvenile eagle as well.

The last five years or so,I see Bald eagles all over. From Augsta GA to Charleston SC.

The are a pretty bird for sure. Cool pics.

Juvenile Bald Eagles do not have white markings, they are all brown. Here in AR, we are overtaken with Bald Eagles. I literally see them soaring and can hear their calls all the time. I saw one last weekend while trout fishing catch at least 5 trout during the day. He would sit in a tree right above us and eat.

those are some great pictures. I have been salmon fishing in washington and have had bald eagles fly over my head first thing in the morning
