Title: Burris FF III or II
Post by: bigbird on May 09, 2014, 11:52:26 AM
I'm wanting to upgrade my optics from the truglo I have to something a little better and need some opinions! What I want is something that sits lower to my receiver than what I have now so I'm wanting to possibly get a Burris on a speed bead mount!

What's your question? The ff3 is better then the 2 IMO but both are great choices. I use the speedbead and the ff3 personally and love it

What size moa did you get with yours? Is bigger better for those? I always used my truglo on #4 power.

I have the 3 MOA but that's just the one I like personally.  3 or 8 is a personally choice you will have to decide on. I like smaller so I can see more of the target but the 8 is very popular as well

I have the fastfire iii and like it, it has a one year warranty.  For the same money you can get a ultradot west and have a lifetime warranty.  I don't know what the customer service is for the ultradot west.  For the Fastfire iii Customer service is great.  I prefer the 3 moa dot also.

How do you like them for when a bird first flies down off the roost?I know some of the old red dots I had when you were in the woods and it was go time it was tough making the target out. This was also deer hunting in the fall, never tried a scope or red dot for turkey but have been considering it lately

I put the FFII on a 20ga for this year and really like it.

I like is so much that I plan to replace the cheap red dot on my 12 with a FFII or FFIII.

leaning towards the III to see if it really is that much better.  I cannot decide on 3 or 8 MOA.

Look around here and you will find a lot of happy Burris owners myself included. I have a ffiii as well as a couple of their rifle scopes. I believe there's at least two guys here that have smashed there optic and Burris replaced them no questions asked. Now that's a warranty.

I went the FFIII route, because you don't have to remove it to replace the battery.

I have the FFII and I really like it! I like it so much I'm trying to find a nice used one for my 20 ga project.

I have the II but that was before the III was out, I would go with the III unless I found a really good deal on the II.

I love the 3moa, from fly down to bright sun I never have a problem seeing it and it never obstructs the target. I wouldn't hunt without a reddot and the fast fire is a fine one to own without breaking the bank
