If you could buy any gun for the turkey woods what would it be? :OGturkeyhead:
:turkey2:
A lightweight single shot 12x3" set up by William at Sumtoy; short barrel, small red dot or ghost site, dipped in Realtree Extra Green... :icon_thumright:
Pretty happy with the 3 I own. If I had the urge and the money for another I would get an older American Arms stack barreled 10 bore, screw in tubes.
love my 835
Any gun
I'll take a Holland and Holland or similar best shotgun with 3.5 inch chambers (don't think that exist) with world class engraving of game scenes with my dogs. 1 barrel set with 2 fixed turkey choke constrictions and 1 barrel set with a 15 and a 25.
Practical gun.
I'll take my a400.
My Benelli Nova
Mine would be a Beretta Xtrema II with kickoff system and a pistol grip stock fitted with a 24" Mossberg 835 barrel wearing an Aimpoint Micro T-1 red dot. It would put 300 Hevi shot #7 pellets in a 10" circle at 60 yards under any weather condition.
A auto with a short barrel that would put 300 or better heavy shot in a 10 in circle at 60 or better yards.
A 5lb O/U, Full choke in one really tight in the other!
This...

I like it Skeeterbait!!
If I could figure out how to post pictures, I would post mine.
Mine is a SBE Steady Grip, added a softer recoil pad, added a God o Grip shotgun wedge to get my eye up a little higher for my FF3 mounted on a 336 base with FF Protector, Willaims Extra Power Recoil Spring, Trigger tuned by Rob Robertson, Rhino .660 Choke and Nitro 4x5x7 3.5", putting over 300 in a 10" @ 40 consistently.
Ridge Rooster
(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/05/hyqyrahy.jpg)Got mine: 870 supermag with shurshot stock. Jellyhead 660 and 3.5" magblends. Burris ff2 with Warbird turkey foot protector. The choke and guard are dipped to match the rest of the gun.

I have several turkey specific shotguns already, a Benelli SBE, a Benelli Nova 20, a Rem 870 SM, a Browning BPS 10 and a Knight TK 2000. Not in the market but if I were I would look hard at the Benelli SBE II.
I already own mine! Benelli vinci, steady grip, bushnell trs-25, sumtoy .650 and kicks .665. I can swap it back to waterfowl hunting in a minute by swapping the stock back, pulling the sight off and putting the sumtoy fowl play choke in. Someday down the road I want a 26" plain black vinci, dip it in bottomland and put the steadygrip, trs-25 and sumtoy in for a dedicated gobbler gun. My other "dream gun" is my bps 10 that I am slowly turning into a lethal dedicated turkey taker. Btw, love that gun Skeeterbait! The camo on that gun just looks amazing too! :OGturkeyhead:
835 Ulti-Mag! O0
My dream would be a new model 3.5 Browning A5 with a pistol grip.
I'd probably have to go nostalgic on this one. My dream turkey gun would simply be an 870 or 11-87 in the old mossy oak greenleaf in pristine condition
budtripp, Killed one this year with an Ol 21" barrel Greenleaf 11-87. It was my perfect turkey gun for years. Still get it out every year, just for old time sake. Made a lot of good memories with that old gun.
Ridge Rooster
New A5 in MO Bottomland...
mudhen
Mine would be to have my old mossberg 500 woodland camo 24 inch barrel with the Hastings 650 choke and aim point on it that I had when I was 16

:icon_thumright: I had a chance to buy a pristine 870 greenleaf last fall from a memner on here but I had just bought an 870 super mag so couldn't justify it at the time and passed it up. Still regretting that one. Maybe one of these days. Also found a nice sp10 in bottomland on gunbroker awhile back but not sure I'd like to lug an 11 lb gun chasing gobblers around haha.
I was dreaming about a Beretta A400 20 gauge with Speedbead until Burris said there's no mount for it. Now I'm back to dreaming about a T/C Optima pistol or a place where I can use my .327 GP100.
I've thought about getting something to replace my 870 Express. But then I think that every turkey I have ever killed with a shotgun has been with that gun. I got my first bird with it while hunting with my grandpa. It's a simple gun with some cheap choke I bought several years ago. I don't even know the brand of it. I think it would be awesome if I can hunt with that gun for forever, or at least as long as it holds out. For now, the plan is to keep it for as long as I can.

The real fun seems to be in the chase. Most of us seem to enjoy finding something better or tweaking what we have. I think that's one of the great things about turkey hunting, always looking for something just a bit better.
I've also seen a real change in what gun makers offer to us. It's possible to get just about whatever you want and that's great.
I remember when the last gun that I bought was going to be the last one that I'd ever need. Sound familiar?
Thanks,
Clark

Now more than half are hers too , I will bet
The rest can be for the kids or grandkids. :toothy9:
Mine would be an old school Belgian made browning a5 20 ga that had a 26 inch barrel that was threaded for chokes. It would be dipped in mo bottomland and would shoot fed hw 7 like the grace of god and have mag gobbke dot sights.

for now. ;)
Winchester model 21 with three inch chambers and choke tubes.
I guess I got it already, 870 supermag 26" barrel, Truglo M.G. Dot Sights, Ballistic Specialties choke, pollished arrel, lengthened forcing cone. Shoots Fed HW#7 around 180-190 in the 10".
But I always wanted one of the 3" 870 sps Botomlands from back in the mid 90s.

happy,happy,happy
SBE2 26" barrel with comfort tech stock, Rob Roberts forcing cone lengthened, barrel ported, trigger work, slammer button, all metal cerakoted and forearm/stock dipped in bottomland... Sure would be nice!

I own the gun but am working on all the mods.
Benelli sbe2. Added a Burris fastfire 3 8 moa this year. Need to get it to rob Roberts for a bit of work. Going to add a steady grip.
But I'm also looking forward to the 16ga flintlock I'm going to try to take a bird with this year!

Finally have both of mine. Already had Rob do his thing on it with the forcing cone, trigger and porting it as well as dipping it SBE2 and bought my 1b gun last June M2 20gauge. Had it cerekoted and will be sending it to rob for trigger and forcing cone.

I have my dream guns. Just need to get them shooting like dream guns. :TooFunny: :TooFunny:
My dream gun for the present time but sometimes my dreams change.

Winchester 1300 NWTF with laminate stock and forearm. They were built in the late 80's. I would love to get my hands on one.
Fox side by side.
I just love a nova so won't want no other gun
An 835
The M2 20ga I already have. But since we are dreaming, I'll say that in my dream Benelli wakes the heck up and offers a SteadyGrip stock for the 20, and either Bottomland or Obsession as an option from the factory.
My max gobbler as soon as I get it dipped in bottomland!
My dream gun is my Maxus that has been shot 3 times. Hopefully 20 years from now I'll still be fortunate enough to be chasing birds with it and I can tell the young guys "they don't make 'em like this anymore"
Wichester sx3 with 20" barrel, sumtoy choke, trijicon scope. That would be a light recoilin 12 even with the 3.5" shells and I know that William will build a choke to smoke the birds pretty easy.
:fud: Winchester SX3 Longbeard 12 + 20 with my Patternmaster Code Black and 3.5" #5 Longbeards. This one is in the near future. Hard to beat my Browning Gold 3.5 12 ga, but the Winchester has the same guts and is a little lighter with the ergo grip and built in picatinny rail.
