Title: New shells
Post by: rdmar on April 19, 2014, 02:52:49 PM
Ok I had thought about switching from 3.5 to 3 in cause I heard they will hold a tighter patter is this true. Second I was wonder which shells he vi shot 6 or 7 or the longbeard 5 or 6. If the 3 in hold a tighter  pattern what yardage is my limit. I currently shoot a stoger m 3500 with a sum toy 665 choke he vi shot 7s with a Burris fast fire iii.
Thanks for your help

40 yds. or less my friend.  Just make sure you pattern them.

Good Luck !!!! :fud:  :OGani:

Only time spent at the patterning board will answer your question about tightness. The yardage question is often debated, but I prefer 40yds and closer.

Hevi over longbeards all day every day... Don't know about 3" being better than 3.5"...  I would think 3.5" would have to better because of the pellet count difference but I could be way wrong...

Hevi #6 or #7 would be my personal preference...

Yea I shoot 7s now just didn't know if the long beards were good enough to switch to even if I kept 3.5s

Most guys on here have really good success with the longbeards. I'm not really a fan. I like the performance of the HTL loads. Just personal preference.  I personally would not switch from Hevi to longbeards....
