Title: Choke question - using Thugs
Post by: lowoctane on April 17, 2014, 01:05:36 PM
Have a 870 SM with the 23" barrel. Going to use T Thugs
3x5x1 7/8.  Anyone running this combo? Recommended
chokes?
                   :thanks:

No experience with that exact como, but Jellyhead in a .665 should be sweet in a 870. That choke shoots good patterns in my Dad's 870 with about any shot he has tried.

I have that same gun but haven't shot many Thugs through it. If I can get a free evening and can find some 3" thugs I'll test them through a few chokes I have.

Mine is 26" barrel and shoots thugs the best through Indian creek .665 and pure gold .670.

I shoot an 870 20" barrel with a .665 Sumtoy with that shell and have been averaging around 170-180 in the 10 at 40.
