shot a bird this am at 7:10. gobbled good in the tree and got a little quiet when he hit the ground. came in spitting and drumming. let the new sbe2 eat at 20 yards. also, shooting the longbeards. very pleased, knocked him right over.

Great bird.....

I'm in Southern VA as well, great gobbling on Sat. morning but ended when they hit the ground. Not much this morning. I heard 3 birds on the roost, gobbled 2-3 each and it was over.

Is it the same in your area?

it has been hit or miss hear. have heard a bunch of gobbling here. few shut up when they hit the ground. some have been hot. didn't get out this am. did ride by one place at 9:45 and had some hens out in the field, but no gobbler? kind of weird. sat there 30 minutes and nothing. going out again in the morning, we will see how it goes. supposed to be cooler. :OGturkeyhead:
