This year i made a commitment to som new gear and bought a few high end or high recommended diaphram calls. After a month of work i still get better performance out of my couple dollarhs strutcalls....what gives??
Not at all, I did the same thing....mouth calls are much more suited to a single individual than any other calls. Mostly because of the conformation of a persons mouth. Each persons pallet is a different size or shape and peoples tongues and pressure differ greatly. The biggest problem is not only finding one whose shape fits your mouth, then which one has the appropriate tensions to make the pressure youse sound the best, then the final step is appropriate instruction and tons if practice. In my case I found the Matt van cise pre cise three call pack from mad calls. Or the Scott Ellis signature series work the best for me. I've tried tons of customs and those have sounded the best.
new isnt always better
Problem I have, is they make me gag. Don't get me wrong, I use them, but seems after they've been in awhile, I find myself gagging on them.
Ive found my favorite ones thru lots of trial and error. Get the ones that work while you can!

The ONLY thing I have ever been able to run is the HS Premium Flex 2.5 and 3.5 cutters. They just work in my mouth. Nothing else ever has.
Whatever works. Price doesn't always equal results
i have tried several different brands and i have always liked the 3 reed hs strut mouth calls the best.
