Title: Lathe Chucks for Strikers
Post by: ccleroy on April 09, 2014, 10:39:04 AM
I've been turning between centers for years, just wondering if there is a easier way to do it. Thanks in advance.

I use a nova chuck to turn strikers, whether it better I don't know, no slipping but if it hangs it will bust it in a second, usually when your almost done

To tell you the truth you could continue to turn between centers if you use a setup like mine.

I use this with a live center in the tailstock. It will turn if you grab the piece instead of catch it and break. Or if you wanted to have a secure hold, then go with a collett set, turn your stock to fit a 3/4" collet and chuck it then run up your live center.
