Got whipped 4 days in a row by a bird that switches roost trees nightly and always has a pushy hen with him. Decided to let him rest, and tried a block of woods that had a few birds in it last year. Should have killed him last hunt, but hesitated on a longish shot through a tree branch. Had him pop up at 40 yards this morning, and I couldn't risk not carrying him out. About 2 flops and he was done. 2 year old, but I'll take them every day, especially in the government woods.
