Title: Eventful evening
Post by: MouthCaller on April 04, 2014, 08:50:31 PM
Got off work at a decent time do I ran home and changed and made it to the woods with about three hours left to hunt. Called in a hen with a little Jake beard and another set of three hens and two gobblers but the gobblers hung up at 60. In the way out I roosted a gobbler for my father in law for tomorrow morning.

Can't beat that for three hours of hunting. I bet your father in law won't sleep a wink tonight. Least I know I wouldn't.  :anim_25:

I'm kicking myself because where that turkey is roosted is where I made my first set up when I got there called for about an hour and moved because I didn't hear anything....

I hope you're either on him or you or your father-in-law have him over your shoulder and you're back on the way home by now.

Thanks,
Clark

Just got off the phone with him 15 mins ago and he got on him two hens flew into the field followed by the gobbler he said the gobbler hit the ground started running then flew off... it was either a super Jake or a bird that's been whipped to be scared off by a decoy... oh well more for me :)
