Question:
You are hearing a bird gobble his head off early, then gobbler number 2 gobbles once, and gobbler number 1 never makes a peep.
Does this mean gobbler #1 is the more dominant bird?
It may, but if they are in different locations is could simply mean gobbler 1 has flown down to some hens that have assembled and is busy struttn and drummin for them. I have seen multiple gobblers together with hens where multiple birds will gobble, but only one struts. I have also seen two gobblers together that seem to be working as a tag team.
By the time that breeding season arrives, a dominate gobbler has been decided, but others will gobble early-on, mostly :gobble:!
