Out driving around "scouting" today. Actually drove by some property I have permission to hunt on my way to the office today. Saw 3 longbeards there!
I am very fortunate in that in my job I get to drive around to different locations. Ended up seeing 11 strutters and a bunch of hens. Actually observed active breeding here in North Central Kentucky.
Youth season opens this weekend and it should be good!
Regular season opens next weekend!
I am SOOOOOOOO ready!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's the "glass half empty response". Friday before juvenile hunt in TN, we saw 12 strutting longbeards on our property. Saturday morning, did not hear 1 peep. Weather was beautiful and I had a bunch roosted. Gobblers were not with the hens and no where to be seen. We did finally get on a gobbler about 9 am so hang with it and good luck!
Drove a 150 mile to my public land spot... Didn't hear god darn thing... Did see a couple trucks parked in my honey holes...
Should be a good year....
