First of  :welcomeOG: you've found a good place to talk turkey  :funnyturkey: As far as the sbe2 goes I've had great results with a rhino .660 & hevi #6's & mag blends both 3" shell. Have also seen good results with IC .665, have just picked one up recently but haven't had a chance to test it yet :z-twocents:

:welcomeOG:   Check out SumToy and Rob Roberts Gunworks...if you contact those two companies they will work directly with you on your exact set up and can recommend a start point.  They will also typically let you swap out chokes till you get what you want. I believe Indian Creek will do that also.  You might also peruse the Turkey Guns and Patterns forum on here it's pretty easy to tell from the thread titles who has tested what load/choke with your gun.  Agree with previous poster, Hevi 13 6's, 7's, or MagBlends seem to toss some wicked patterns for everyone if you can get the choke right.  Certainly worked for me.  Good luck and again  :welcomeOG:

X2 on the above 2 recommendations for chokes and loads, I would definitely give the new Win. Long Beards a try with any of the above chokes. I have seen good patterns from the primos jelly head, and Kicks gobblin thunder chokes. Look at the classifieds on the site theres a few SBE2 chokes for sale there.

I'd like to add my welcome to OG to the others. This is really a great site with many helpful folks.

I've been shooting Benelli shotguns since 1991 when I bought my first SBE. In those 23 years I've tried a real variety of chokes and shells in many different Benellis, 3 SBEs, a Nova, SBEII, M-1, M-2  and Vinci, just to name a few, with lots of different barrel lengths and have found some combinations that work. All those guns have the same i.d. chrome-lined barrels, so what works in one, pretty much works in the others.

As you know those guns have tighter bores than many others, so we generally recommend tighter chokes but it's really all about the internal geometry of a well designed choke and not just its exit diameter. I've found several chokes that work well in all those guns, both the mobil threaded and the "crio" threaded that fits your gun.

Those guns are so reliable that it's easy to forget to maintain them. For the most part, they like clean barrels to pattern well. Over the years I've found that when hunters have a Benelli that's not patterning well, it can generally be cured by deep cleaning the bore, even if it looks clean visually.

I shoot the Wright's #3 .650, the SSX .643 and JEB's .655, all with quite different "internals" but all well designed, in my guns with excellent results.

I can't find a more consistent or better performing load in the turkey woods than the Hevi-13s either #6 or #7 shot. I prefer the #6 shot, probably because I shoot so much of it and know just what it will do in my guns, and other than in evaluation of some product, I shoot the 3" shells for hunting. They do all that's needed to be done.

Again, welcome and I wish you all the best with your new gun and in the turkey woods and fields this spring.

Thanks,
Clark

I have tried the Kick's GT, Hevi-brand choke, and the Rob Roberts choke.  Of the three, the RR choke in .655 shot the pattern I was most looking for.  I agree with AllAboutShooting in that these guns seem to prefer a tighter choke.  That RR choke shoots mag blends and XR 3.5-6's the best it seems.

Mine shoots awesome patterns with the original jelly head, I believe it is .660, mine is a 26 inch barrel and the best is hevi shot #6, mag blends do well and Winchester extended range 6s do really well but are discontinued.

My  favorite is the old hevi shot white shells in three inch, I swear they kick about the same as a .22, first one I ever shot seemed like a dud! But the patterns are really close to the 3.5 inch shel without the punishment!

I think the key with mine is it is absolutely dead on Point of aim with just the beads!!! Honestly every shell i have shot through it including lead 5s will work well out to 40 yards, never tried the Federal hw or other flight control stuff due to the choke I have.

I'm shooting a 24" barrel using a Rhino (.660) with Nitro's and MagBlends and getting very good results for what it's worth. I tried an Indian Creek choke but the Rhino shot better.

SBE II 24" barrel, Pure Gold .670 and Hevi Shot 3.5/2.25/6.  I tried no less than 9 chokes before I finally chose the PG and I'm happy with the patterns...

P.S.  The shot size was 6s, not 7s on that paper.  Mistakenly put the wrong size...
