Very quick hunt this morning. I had these birds patterned for the last several weeks. I got set up in my blind a good 45 minutes before daylight and had my DSD jake and hen set up. There were 3 birds gobbling within 100 yards of my setup. After a few soft tree yelps on my Woodhaven Classic V3 all 3 piched down about 100 yards in front of me. They saw the dekes and were within 10 yards in less than 5 minutes. I shot the first bird and the other 2 immediatly started flogging him. I then shot the second one @ 8 yards. I let the 3rd bird go because with 5 tags I need something to do the next 6 weeks.

Congrats on the double!! Thats Awesom, Sounds like you have a Hot spot, and the next few weeks should be Good to Go. Maybe I will drive dowm???? I have a Sister That lives in Gaffney SC.
That's a heck of a way to kick off your season. Congratulations! :icon_thumright:
:icon_thumright:
Good decision not to shoot the third bird or you would have been over the daily limit in SC of 2 birds! Great job arrowing two beauties though! :icon_thumright:
Good Point Shane!
I honestly have never thought about the 2 bird a day limit. I have doubled numerous times over the years but have never had the opportunity to shoot a third bird in a day!!!!!!!!!
Good deal. I have been thinking about my lowcountrymen all day. So far I have gotten word of a total of 3 archery kills and 3 gun kills and 1 archery shot that is currently rated as a loss. The guy and his lab are on the trail of a wingless gobbler, hoping to get confirmation of a successful recovery here soon.
Meanwhile, I'm trying to be productive here at the office.
Thats what I'm talkin about!!! :you_rock: :you_rock:
