This was the toughest opening weekend I've ever seen in west tn. Hunted all day saturday and sunday morning without hearing one single gobble. Late saturday afternoon we finally spotted some turkeys, and some good birds at that, but they were across the property line. Had a few gobblers, some jakes, and a bunch of hens. The jakes and gobblers were fighting for a while but were not interested in our calling nor the hens that was with them... Hopefully the weather will warm up this week and get them going!

I got one yesterday but this morning not a single gobble . Had a Jake come in and he got to about75 yards seen my Jake decoy and turn tail a run . He gobbler yelped some but never gobbled. Worsest weather on opening weekend I can remember

Trust me I feel your pain. It's no better in Middle Tn. They have been gobbling on the roost and as soon as they hit the ground.....nothing. The weather is supposed to warm up by Wednesday, so hopefully our luck will turn around.
here in middle tn. had a bunch of birds gobble on the roost this morning and could hear a lot of fighting in the field behind me, luckily they caught sight of my killer B decoy and came a running. beat the snot out of the decoy. killed my bird and partner missed the double beard at 20 yards. but they have all gone quiet after being on the ground 30 min.
yesterday was a very tough day. I didn't get one today. but I called in two on for my buddy off the roost and the other for my dad around 4. its starting to get there this week and going into this weekend will be good. we are getting some good weather now.
