Looking for opinions. Looking to make a purchase but can't decide which way to go.
I know they are very similar, but after shooting the mossberg this past weekend with a kid I am taking on a youth hunt I was not overly impressed with the gun.
The receiver and bolt seemed really cheap! I guess if it were just a turkey getter I would not worry too much but I do not see the gun withstanding a lot of shooting over a long period of time!
they are both made in the same factory.. with the SA-459. Basically all the same gun. I have two SA-20.. they have been great guns.
Weatherby SA08
Bass Pro has the Weatherby for $519. It has a nice feel.

The bolt broke in my SA20 after only 6 shots! No parts available so I have to send it back to Mossberg to have it repaired.
I have a Weaherby SA08 20 ga. I researched it for over a year before i bought it. It is based off of the Beretta 303 gas system. When i break it down to clean it next to my beretta 390 it is almost identical. It takes the winchoke which is a very easy choke thread to find in after market turkey chokes. They also make a youth model and you can purchase the pistol grip from Weatherby if you want that.
I love mine. It is a sweet shooter and i haven't had any issues in three years with it. Ive posted up a lot about it on this forum and at least a half dozen guys that I know of have also bought them and all have reported positive things to me about them.
Choke? Anyone shooting TSS out of the sa08?
Im running an Sum Toy 562-5 with fed 7s.
I am shooting TSS out of mine with a SumToy choke. I have the youth model for the money you cant beat it. Shooting in the low 300's at 40yds. Put a Fast Fire III and trigger job.
Good info
Thanks guys
