My daughter (age 13) has hunted with me for the past 3 years and killed a bird every year. This year, I am not allowing her to use a blind so she will learn what REAL turkey hunting is about. She is a very good hunter, but like all of us, is still learning every time she enters the woods. This morning we learned the lesson to get the gun on the bird as soon as you can, because you never know what will happen with only 3 more steps to the decoy set-up. We are still not sure what made this bird throw on the brakes, maybe the camera, but he did. All in all, I love having her beside me at the base of a tree. ENJOY!

Sad truth is that we all miss sooner or later. Your daughter will get him next time and she will always remember the time/experiences you share together no matter if you kill the birds or not.... Good luck next time......
She's a better hunter now, Tough way to learn ...Good Luck
She will whack the next one! Try manual focus on that cam!
Awh man! I love reading stories like this; I'm getting my 12 y.o. daughter, Brianna, into turkey hunting with me... She's had some good shooting sessions and some shakey ones... No blinds, tho - I'm "throwing her out to the wolves", and teaching her the "hard" way, I guess... She was so nervous this morning, but... I'm confident she'll be Ok; the only way to turkey hunt is just like this right here, imo...
I certainly remember all my misses, but boy - it sure makes the "hits" that much sweeter!! Better luck next time, Leah; don't give up!!!
it happens best way to look at it she gets to go out again...good luck
great video hard for young ones to get on em when they're running like the wind, I like using decoys when I'm hunting with youth's. better luck next time.
Busted!
Looks like someone moved.
Looked like a great bird...
