Title: Lessons learned from todays shooting.
Post by: wisconsinteacher on March 14, 2011, 07:04:45 PM
When shooting a gun with the Knoxx stock and turkey loads, do not shoot off sand bags like you would with a rifle.  My lip is twice as big as normal on one side.  I did shoot a few more shots standing up and also keeping my head up and that went a lot better.  I figured it out, you put your chin on the stock and that is all.  The 3" Federal rounds kick but not as bad as when shooting off the bench.   :z-guntootsmiley:

Where I see the difference with the stock is on my shoulder.  After shooting 12 trap rounds and 6 3" rounds, my shoulder does not feel as bad as when shooting without the Knoxx.  I have a bad shoulder and it was not bad shooting other than my lip.  I am a little worried about the 3.5" coming down the road.

I have one box of 3.5 and will most likely have them for a while as I can not see the benefit for turkeys in the H13 and Mag Blend shells. Maybe on duck and geese with steel it would be necessary, just IMHO though.
