Hey guys, I have a question for a friend that's bought a Winchester SXP pump 12-gauge gun (compact model) for turkey hunting... He brought it over to the house, and I noticed that it doesn't have the "buttons" on it to mount a strap -- nothing on the cap for the magazine, and nothing on the butt stock either... ???
Does he need to just take this to a gunsmith & have them mount one in the butt stock, and then "tap" the cap & put one in there (not sure how that could be done, but)?? If you have this gun, what have you done to get a strap put on it?
Didn't see this on another thread on OG, but if it's been beat to death, just point me there. Thx!

Yeah that is not unusual with "field" guns. Unless you have machining tools I would have a smith do it. It isn't hard but there are tools that make sure it is done right like a v guide to make sure the stock is drilled on center and at the proper angle. Won't cost much.

10-4; Thx Skeeterbait, there's a guy down the road that's done good work for me, I'll give them a holler & see if they can knock this out real quick. Appreciate the quick reply; hope you're having a good season so far! BTW, I ended up getting a leafy suit @ Academy the other day; it's nice to be able to slip it on over "street" clothes & go hunting.
