Title: Patterns and the Weather
Post by: Borden811 on March 14, 2011, 04:25:47 PM
How much affect does cold temperature and a breeze have on a pattern. For example: I patterned my gun on Saturday and it was 45 degrees, and a little breezy (5-10) mph. I got 262 in the ten at 40 with hevi-13 7's.  My question is, if I wait to shoot again until it's 65 and calm, realistically, how much better can I expect my pattern to be? I've heard a lot of people say they get better with warmer temps, but how much better? 5-10 pellets? 20? Just looking for an idea of what to expect.

I would say 20-30

So I could potentially be getting 280-290 when the weather warms up? That would be crazy! I won't hold my breath, but that would be awesome if it works out that way.
