Title: JEBS "HEAD HUNTER" CHOKE TUBE
Post by: Shiyfire on March 17, 2014, 10:23:23 AM
Anybody use jebs chokes ? Looks like they have some of the tightest chokes i have found ,do they pattern better or are they too tight?

Shot mine this weekend for the first time.  SBE I 24" barrel with Jebs .655 and Win. Longbeard XR #5s 3.5".  I got consistently even patterns with very few flyers at all.  We only actually counted one pattern, but we got a solid 226 pellets in a 12" circle at 40yds.  Best patterns I've ever gotten from any set up I've shot.

Went back and counted in a 10" circle and it was right at 190. Very dense core of pellets and very even as well. Just not much wiggle room for error.

No wiggle room for error.  I just patterned my SX3 with a .665 and #5's at 40 yards, I don't count, but the pattern was so tight I couldn't hunt with it. Right now I will stick to Supreme HV #5's.  When I run out of them I will buy a more open choke and shoot the longbeards.

I've shot a variety of JEB's chokes, in several different exit diameters and in several different guns. They have unique internal geometry and many times a .655 e.d. works very well in a lot of guns. Patterns are generally even and dense.

I have only shot Hevi-13 through those chokes in #6 and #7 shot, so I can't speak to any lead patterns however.

Thanks,
Clark

Sorry for the crappy pic. Shot was a little high and right(crosswind).
