Can a scope cover be purchased somewhere to protect the lens. When I carry my gun I am concerned about trash getting on the lens of the fastfire. I have the cover that came with it but that will not keep trash off the lens.
Don't think so. I've looked but never found anything. Wish somebody would make a rubber cover
Contact Burris direct. I bet they can hook you up. When you purchase a FFIII, a rain cover comes with them.

Is the rain cover just the regular plastic cover it comes with?

Yes. It looks like a little covered bridge.
This is what they look like. I had mine dipped, but this is the design.

I bought it from sportsoptic and they said burris didn't make a scope cover for it.

I didn't see it on their website. Didn't see it on Burris either. Wonder if that would fit the ff2
I don't believe the FFIII cover will work with the FFII.

Burris may not offer it directly on the website, but I bet if you contacted them directly, they would be able to help you out.
The FF3 cover will not fit the FF2. both Fast fires come with a cover, contact Burris and I am sure they will take care of you. Lee
Burris puts a cover in with the site, I don't understand why you didn't get one with your FF III. I'd go back to where you got it and exchange it, you should have a cover with it.
I sent burris an e-mail asking where I could purchase a scope cover for the fastfire 3. I got the cover that came with the scope, a little plastic one, like a covered bridge, but both ends of the scope are open to trash getting into the scope lens. As I carry my gun slung with the barrel down, trash can get into the lens that one looks thru. I will post what burris says.
The cover is suppose to have clear plastic on both ends. Lee
no plastic in either end of the cover, wide open
Mine has the clear plastic pieces on each end...sounds like you got a bad cover...call Blurris maybe?
mudhen
Thanks, sent Burris another e=mail!

Mine too.
Burris is sending me a lens cover that has the clear lens in both ends. ads1 : Send burris an email with your name and address and explain no plastic lens in either end, they will send you another one. Thanks Everyone for posting, it helped me a lot.
Hello all! New to this post and I know its kind of old but wanted to put some new information out there on this subject. My boss was fed up with not having a decent scope cover for his Fastfire sights as well, we developed the ideal remedy to safeguard both the Fastfire 2 & 3. For more information please check out our website at www.dreamplastics.com . I will also attach a couple of photos to try and help all you good folks out!
That looks like it would be hard to see through without x-ray vision.
lost the darn thing the first time I used mine in the rain, think burris will send me 10 so I can find em lol

are you supposed to reach up and take it off when a bird is coming?? I rubber fitting with clear lenses that you can take off would be perfect I just dont know how that would be applicable in the field
Yeah its pretty hard to see through, haha! It is made for protection and already has a lens.
The one that comes with the optics allow you to mount it and leave it on so you don't have to be fiddle-farting around with it when a bird is coming in...
Hey, Cabelas has the New Burris Fastfire III sight with AR-F3 mount on sale reg. 399.00 sale 199.00 is this a good price and will this work on my turkey gun weaver picatinny rail..?
Oh yeah, Burris absolutely made a great cover in that regard. Our only complaint was how cumbersome (yet functional - I agree with spaightlabs) their cover was, especially when mounted on a pistol. This cover was made more for protection and ease of use, they both have there place absolutely. As you may know the Fastfire II comes with a cover that has no lens, likely because people were complaining about the size of the III's cover. Even that is a very well made cover that just doesn't offer much real protection.
Simple solution-use a bead sight like everyone did for years and don't worry about the rain and dust! Lol! But really, I used a fast fire 3 last year and hunted hard through rain, thick cover, and other nasty stuff without ever having the protector on and the sight looks and works good as new. I hate optics or sights on my turkey guns (I'm just a bead guy) but the ff3 is a great product in my opinion and is way tougher than it looks.

It's hard to hunt with a bead when your gun doesn't shoot to point of aim.
It looks like a great product but when I put the order in my cart and checked the shipping, it was $16.00. May I ask why so much for such a small package?
Not trying to be rude just wondering.
Hey wisconsinteacher,
Well I did some digging on why the heck shipping was so much on the Fastfire 2 & 3 protective covers. It seems or web developer had the product size for another much bigger item (decoy stakes) attached to the covers when calculating shipping. Was told this morning the issue was resolved, going to check it out myself right now. We over here at Dream Plastics sure appreciate your positive feedback and are very proud of the product. It fits like a glove and offers great protection for your investment. My apologies.
Thanks for looking into the shipping question. I appreciate your time and commitment to help out.
Going to order the covers today...
Exactly what I want for transporting the gun with the FF III !!
