GOT A REPLACEMENT SENT TO ME FROM IC. JUST TOOK 2 DAYS AN WOW IT WAS HERE.. NOW THAT I CLEANED IT WITH SHOOTERS CHOICE ITS ALMOST SHINEY.... THE SHOOTERS CHOICE ALMOST TOOK NALL THE BLACK OFF OF IT. WHAT CAN I USE TO DARKIN IT UP SO IT DON'T SHINE ?
thats a new one that i have not heard before. you can pick up a can of flat black or olive drab and touch it up. just fill the inside of the choke with a paper towel or something . and do not paint the threads. if you do get some paint inside it should be gone after one or two loads .
Use the Shooter's Choice on the inside of the choke.

over the years i have had Shooters Choice inside and out of chokes ,barrels and stocks. it has never in the past 8 to 10 years removed or dis colored the finish of any of my rifles or shotguns. is this one of IC's stainless steel chokes??

I didn't even want to ask! :TooFunny:
no its a new turkey choke. first time i cleanerd it i noticed alot of the black was coming off. now it is gettin shiny. not completly but it dont even look close to my old ic choke that has been cleaned alot. not sure but i am goin to use paint on outside. carefull not to get any of the thin ports blocked.
Indian Creek is making some new turkey chokes out of Stainless Steel.

I would maybe call them again and inform them that something is happening to your choke when you clean it.. May save them a bunch of money
Look at your choke where it has the constriction stamped on is and see if it has an SS next to the number. I don't think there is a good method for blackening stainless. Smith and Wesson experimented with blackened stainless revolvers for a while and gave up because the blackening was not very durable.
called them.. yes it is a new stainless choke. stuart said they are havin trouble with some new style chokes with the finish. he is gonna make it right for me. they are a great company and would recomend there customer service for sure.
