Title: Pure Gold Tempest unported turkey choke?
Post by: Skeeterbait on March 12, 2014, 01:20:58 PM
Has anyone tried the new Pure Gold Tempest unported turkey choke for flight control wads?  Think I may try one of these with heavyweight 7's just to see what it will do unless y'all tell me you tried it and it was terrible.

My buddy had one for a 24" barreled mossy 500. Used the #7 HW and would get around 150 to 160 in the 10. It wasn't very impressive numbers wise, but it would definetly get the job done.

Well the Tempest .670 was a miserable failure, at least in my 935.  I fired two Heavyweight 3 1/2"  1 7/8 oz #7 and at 40 yards got 108 and 78 in a 10" curcle at 40 yards.  Large paper so I didnt miss the core, there was no core.  Shot all over the place.  The wad flew nearly the entire 40 yards and dropped just in front of the target.  I have no idea why this combo would be so bad.

I received about the same results through my 11-87's, glad it came with a 100% money back...
