Title: Stoeger shooter low and to the right
Post by: rutnstrut on March 11, 2014, 07:02:59 PM
My stoeger 2000 is shooting low and to the right. What is a cheap but effective fix for this ? This is my all around shotgun so I don't want to mount a red dot or scope on it. How are the clamp on adjustable sights? Do they hold up to much beating around without knocking them off ?

I had the same experience with the Stogers (GREAT GUNS) after patterening several of the 2000's and 3000's I found that the big fat bead was the problem. The ones i shot also shot low. The perfect remedy and it works! is i found the 3 pack of snap on fiber optic sights at my local walmart $13.00 i took the factory bead off and snapped on the smaller low profile fiber optic and it worked perfect!

Sorry forgot to add if your buget allows definitly get yourself a Sumtoy .650 choke they are by far in my experience the best chokes for thes guns, and they work great with Heavy or lead!

I don't like having to just aim high and to the right. It's to easy to forget. And I have taken the factory bead off and have a smaller bead on it now

There are several brands like Truglo or HiViz that make sights that fit on shotgun ribs. Some are cheaper than others.

Read this thread, particularly the response of mightyjoeyoung on page 1.

If mighty joe's recommendations don't work, you can then consider Slimsides made by D&E Enterprises and sold in Brownell's catalog that raise the comb and provide a slight amount of cast or a GodaGrip for the comb.  You can also consider Williams Firesights, Tru Glo Magnum Gobble Dot Pro Series, and Hi Viz adjustable sights.
